Graduation is June 17th!
Wow, we can't believe it either.  These seven stellar students will be graduating cap-and-gown-style on Friday June 17th.  They are all set to start their high school careers at various public, charter, and private schools in the city and we're very excited for them.  If any of you readers are local and would be interested in joining us for the graduation ceremony it will be at 10am at Grace and Peace Community Fellowship located at 515 W. Courtland St. Philadelphia, PA 19140.  (5th & Courtland across from RiteAid)  Please consider joining us, we'd love to have you.

             solar_powerSun Power!!!

LOGAN Hope's kindergarten class learned all about renewable energy.  They spent time experimenting with solar power and eventually built solar powered cars which they raced outside one sunny day!

And the award goes to...

Teaw "Mercedes" Phongsouvanh, one of our amazing 8th graders pictured above on the far right, was honored in a community event on May 26th.  The Logan Community Development Corporation chose Mercedes as one of three recipients of a Logan Blooming Youth award which recognizes youth who are making a difference in the Logan community.  Congratulations Mercedes!

recess

Who doesn't love
recess?

This is just a picture of some kindergarten and first graders having a blast posing for this picture during recess.  Looks like fun, doesn't it?!

                              science_fair_1

LOGAN Hope's 5th annual middle school science fair was held on May 24th.  Students were responsible for showing off their research projects and giving demonstrations to everyone in the school... and the science fair judges!  These kids did a fantastic job with topics ranging from animal learning to artificial sweeteners.  First place went to Sophara Chhay for his work on right and left eye dominance.

                         radio
We'll be right back after these messages...
8th graders, Samantha and Ashley, got to spend an afternoon visiting West Chester University's radio station.  They were interviewed by one of the student DJs and got to learn about broadcasting while sharing about LOGAN Hope School!
